Gelt stun grenades, often nicknamed “eggs” by both humans and Gelt, are small, ovoid devices designed to disable targets with a powerful electromagnetic pulse and concussive shock. Originally developed by the Gelt as a nonlethal weapon, they can neutralize both biological combatants and electronic systems, including nanotechnology. Humans adapted their use during the Gelt Incursion and subsequent conflicts. In “The Spiders of Boston,” Connor Duffy uses salvaged Gelt stun grenades to disable incendiary nanite-equipped terrorists during a hostage crisis.
