Colonel Hu is a Compact Marine officer who first appears in Storming Amargosa as the commanding officer of Marine forces near Arcanum. Following the collapse of organized resistance in the early months of the occupation, he defected from the remnants of the Compact military to join the Northern Resistance, led in part by Ellie Nardino.
After the Liberation of Amargosa, Hu remained active in the rebuilding efforts around Deming, assisting with the reorganization of mech forces for civilian use. He later supports Ellie’s pilot program to adapt Gelt-origin mechs into agricultural and construction machines.
