No, not the Jurassic Park sequel starring Jeff Goldblum. That movie stunk up the joint, but at least its dinosaurs looked real enough. This, however, is the 1960 film, very loosely based on the novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, by science fiction and disaster film guru Irwin Allen. Like George Pal, Allen excelled at special effects extravaganzas. Unfortunately, the studio cut the budget on this. So instead of some clever stop motion work that was state of the art before Allen did Lost in Space and Star Trek debuted, we get Peter Lorre being eaten in miniature by a humiliated monitor lizard trying to pass as a T Rex.
